Raid Recommendation

Looking for a new solution for my backup servers we run here. I like to keep them Raid5 and backup all servers to an offsite server. Currently I am running software Raid5 on Centos, but want something a little more robust as I continue to upgrade. What Raid cards work will with AMD/Intel chips on Centos or other Linux(es)?
