posted by brand0n I have a guy in one of my forums asking me about his GS...here is his question...

Hi, I have a 2.8 Dual Xeon Windows with 2.0 Gigs of ECC DDR Ram on a OC-48 pipe. I have installed the latest dedicated server files for Halo. The game server starts fine when I double click on the haloded.exe & reads the init.txt file also.

Heres my problem.
When I log out of RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) the halo server dies.

What other way can I start the server so it runs either in the background or doesnt quit when I log out.
(This box is hosted remotely so I have to log out btw)

I've also Tried FireDaemon without success.
(Licenced version which can run multiple game instances & works fine with other game types).

I notice "E:\HaloPC\haloded.exe -exec e:\halopc\init1.txt -cpu 0 -port 2301" can be used to start a server.
Is this a command prompt command line?
I have tried it (edited location in line) but it gives me an error ...

This error reads with the message below;
"We have detected that one of the Halo PC files is missing or corrupted"

The link tells me to reinstall all files which Ive done twice, but still same error.
(this error only appears if I try to start from command prompt)

Are there any Admins running on a similar box using RDC that can help me out here. Ive tried everything I can think of.

Anybody have any ideas?

posted by Unregistered i had the same problem except in the end i found out that a message appeared saying the client is newr the the server. i don't really know what that meant so i taking a guess it could be that i updated my halo to 1.07 but me server program is 1.02 that my help i have no idea me trying to get it working for 2hrs and 30mins. lol
